RTD activity at  the Department

Currently, the department carries out both highly professional training and teaching, and a high-quality research activities in the field of development of the modern equipment of the restaurant and hotel industry, trade, food production, technical means of customs control in the area of intellectual property and the like.

Research carried out in the framework of the 2 (two) scientific schools.

  • Investigation of food production, development and improvement of technology of food and equipment for their production.
  • Non-waste technology processing of food raw materials and equipment design.

Scientists of the Department successfully completed and put into production research works on the following topics:

Financed from State budget:

  • Development of advanced energy and resource-efficient processes and equipment for concentration and drying of food raw material.
  • Improving resource processes combined processing of fruit and vegetable raw materials.
  • Waste-free processing of raw meat with ultrasound.
  • Food Processing ultrasound.

Financed on contractual base:

  • Development of the construction workers of the cutting cutter for receiving of paste  meat  minced.
  • Development of regulatory documents on the semi-finished milk-protein baby food.
  • Development of regulatory documents on dessert structured products based on derivatives of ultrafiltration of protein-carbohydrate raw milk.

Research developments of Dept’s scientists are actively introduced into industrial production.

International RTD activity

Lecturers-researchers of the Department annually take part in international scientific conferences, international fairs, exhibitions and competitions.

Department carries out organizational work to establish relations with foreign training centers and other institutions. At the Department much attention is paid to RTD and publishing activities.

The Protocol on scientific-and-technical cooperation with the State University named after Akakiy Tsereteli (Kutaisi, Georgia) was signed, within framework of which the Dept’s lecturers-researchers took part in the conference Actual Pproblems of Modern Food Technology. Department as a co-organizer has conducted the International  scientific-and-practical conference Innovative Aspects of Equipment for Food and Hotel Industry in the Conditions of Today.

Department’s participation in FP8 – HORIZON 2020 (2014-2020)

Currently Department spends much organizational work on searching for profile consortia within WP-Food 2016-2017 of the  Sub-priority  Food Security Priority area  Societal Challenges  2 EU Program Horizon 2020 (2014-2020)    first of all  – in area of development of a new types of special equipment for food processing technology.

Material-and-technical base of Department

Department has modern material-and-technical base and highly qualified lecture-and-research staff, which ensures optimum conditions for research of any complexity, namely. ultrafiltration module, installation for the study of the steam cleaning of vegetables, ultrasonic dispersing UZDN 2T,  penetrometer PMDP, pressure gauge, potentiometer PP-63, infrared thermometer DT-480,  apparatus for measuring breakout forces,  scales laboratory VLKT-500,  centrifuge TSLN-2, LOMO Microscope-1, installation for studying the process of extracting pectinб others.

Profile research and industry expertises that  the Department of  Equipment of  Food and Hotel Industry named after Prof. Mykhailo Belyaev of the Faculty of Equipment and Technical Service of KSUFT  can actually performs in the case of address to him with such request possible European project consortium within the Horizon 2020 Programme:

  • The Department  is also ready to perform part of the of project profile scientific researches and carry out scientific expertises on the topics, proposed by the coordinator of the European project consortium.

Scientific achievements

The scientific-and-research staff of the Department took part in 57 exhibitions, which presented 24 exhibits, as well as 63 conferences, symposia and workshops of international, national and other levels.

Department has published:  monographs – 5; textbooks – 2,  of them with the stamp of MESU  (The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine) – 2, manuals – 8,  of them with the stamp of MESU – 4,  publications (articles and abstracts) – 393 of them 39 – in  foreign editions, including 9 articles published in publishing houses, members of the scientific base metric; obtained 44 documents of title; introduced scientific-and-technical products in the industry – 12, in the educational process – 18; dissertations defended – 3, among them: 1 doctoral, candidate in TechSciD – 2.
