The Department was organized in 2003.

The total number of full time faculty - 16 employees, including – 3 professors, of which: 1 doctor of science,  8 assistant professors, of which 8 candidates in EconSciD, 4 senior lecturers, of which  – 2 candidates in EconSciD.

Our team – research-and-academic staff of the Department of International Economics of the Faculty of Economics of KSUFTT

Research and Technology Development (RTD) activity of Department

RTD activity is one of the key components of the Department of International Economics. Its RTD covers topical issues of international economic relations and the areas of its national, international and supranational regulation, management of international activities of the state and foreign economic activity of the enterprise.

In terms of these aspects at the Department 1 scientific schools are functioned: The General Scientific School Study of Theoretical and Applied Aspects of the Functioning and Development of Business Entities in the Face of International Competition. A new area within the framework of existing Scientific school are the RTD and applied developments dedicated to conceptual approaches to the formation of the marketing strategies of enterprises in the conditions of transformation of the world market (Supervisor of the area – Dr. Tetiana Shtal’ EconSciD, Prof.)

Initially, the  important activities of the Department are:

  • use a new approaches to vocational and practical training on the basis of social partnership with entrepreneurs and representatives of business;
  • popularization of achievements of Ukrainian and world science on issues of socio-economic processes in the sphere of international economic relations and foreign trade.

Scientific activities of the Department is intellectually focused creative work carried out in the form of basic and applied research and aimed on generating and using a new knowledge on various aspects of the functioning of the current international economic system. Fields of interests of research staff of the Department are the development of modern international relations, manifestations of globalization, problems of economic integration of Ukraine into the world economy and the impact of these processes on the development of the national economy.

Promising areas of research of the department are:

  • raising the scientific level of lecturers of the Department through the training and protection master's and doctoral theses on the level of a scientific degree on development of economic processes at macro and micro levels;
  • research on topical issues of socio-economic processes in the sphere of international economic relations and foreign economic activity (FEA), respectively, the subject of a new budget and contract research works;
  • scientific cooperation with economists-practitioners on questions of improving the efficiency of foreign economic activity (FEA) in the integration of enterprises into the European and world economy;
  • preparation and holding of scientific conferences with the participation of famous scientists, young researchers, practitioners, prospective students from different regions of Ukraine and abroad with the aim of approbation of the results of research into the processes of international business and international restaurant business;
  • participation in international scientific conferences on current economic issues of the department teachers, young scientists, post-graduate students, masters in Ukraine and abroad;
  • preparation of monographs, textbooks, manuals, scientific articles and abstracts, with purpose of improving the level of scientific support for the educational process.

The lecturing-and-research staff of the Department regularly improve their skills with the use of such new forms as the work in the Scientific-and-methodical commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MESU), internships in research centers of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU), participation in the International Personnel Academy (IPA), in work composed of specialized scientific councils of defense of candidate and doctoral theses.

International  RTD activity

Research-and-academic staff of Department over the past 5 years, has actively participated in International scientific conferences, international fairs and exhibitions, competitions and other similar events of international level, including studied the possibility of participation in the European Commission's Framework Programs (FP) of Research-and-Technological Development (RTD), in particular in FP7 (2007-2014).

Currently Department spends organizational work on searching for profile consortia within WP-Food 2016-2017 of the  Sub-priority  Food Security of Priority Area  Societal Challenges  2,  EU Program Horizon 2020 (2014-2020),    first of all  – in area of international economic aspects of providing food quality & safety, food processing and in others relevant research areas.

Material-and-technical base of the Department

Material-and-technical base of the Department provides optimally both educational process and RTD activity of scientists and students.

Department has the necessary material-and-technical basis for ensuring the educational process and to carry out the planned RTD work of research staff and students: lecture halls and classrooms, where are held lectures, seminars and workshops. Premises for lecture and practical classes which meet modern requirements for the educational process with use of modern computer equipment, specialized computer devices and software.

Profile research and industry expertises that  the Department of International Economics of the Faculty of Economics of KSUFTT   can actually performs in the case of address to him with such request possible European project consortium within the Horizon 2020 Programme:

  • Expertise in the field of theoretical and applied aspects of the functioning and development of business entities in the conditions of international competition.
  • Expertise in the field of applied research dedicated to conceptual approaches to the formation of the marketing strategies of enterprises in the conditions of transformation of the world market.
  • Expertise in the field of use of new approaches to vocational and practical training on the basis of social partnership with entrepreneurs and business representatives.
  • Expertise in the field of the problems of socio-economic processes in the sphere of international economic relations and foreign trade.
  • Other specialized expertise at the proposal of a foreign customer.
  • The Department  is also ready to perform part of the of project profile scientific researches and carry out scientific expertises on the topics, proposed by the coordinator of the European project consortium.
